As far as Web browsers go, Firefox is arguably the best out there, that is my personal opinion and outright endorsement of an amazing product of Web technology. Firefox is fast, uncomplicated and customizable to your liking. According to these browser statistics, Firefox had 47.4% of the browser usage for the month of August, 2009, surpassing Google Chrome, Safari, Opera and all currently-supported versions of Internet Explorer.

‘The Web’ by Google

The Internet is buzzing with the latest news out of the Google campus in California. Google has just announced plans to introduce an operating system (OS) based on their Chrome browser, the ‘Google Chrome Operating System’ and according to the blog post; “it is Google’s attempt to re-think what operating systems should be”.

 

The OS will be released later this year under an open source license, allowing the influx of outside programmers. It will be initially available on netbooks in the second half of 2010, but will eventually find its way to laptops and desktops. Google Chrome OS is also expected to run on both x86 as well as ARM chips.
